Happy Birthday Grandpa Turley

This is Richard's dad better known as Buster or Ray. He is a fun-loving guy who is always giving of himself. He is talented in so many ways, I guess you could call him a Jack of all trades.

He is retired from teaching. He is a very talented woodworker. He has made many caskets for others in times of great need. He can fix almost anything on a vehicle. He is an excellent cook and bakes wonderful bread. He spoils his pets and grandkids.

He is one of a kind thats for sure! You just have to mention that you have a need be it significant or not and you can consider it done. Here is a fun example. Jerry his wife mentioned one morning that it would be nice to have a map of the world in the house. She came home later that day to a wall sized map that had already been put up. He is definately a git r' done kind of guy.

Look who's in town

My niece Kamrielle and nephew Carder are in town for the week.

It sure has been fun to see them so much.

Temple Lights

Tonight we went to see the lights at the Temple. They were beautiful and the place was packed but even with all of the busyness we enjoyed it. We got to see a little bit of the program and lots of lights. We spent a little time indoors at the Visitors Center watching the commercials which is one of our favorite things to do there. My sister and her two little one's are here for a few days staying at my parents. Kamrielle came for a sleepover at our house tonight so we brought her along which was fun. Here are the two of us below.

As we were watching a bit of the program Kamrielle thought she would lead them in song. It's a short clip but cute.

Band Concert

Tonight was Trevon's band concert and it was wonderful as usual.

We saw great progress in their abilities from just a few months ago.

Mutual Night

Our ward went caroling for mutual on Wednesday night. They had a great time as you will see below. The Freeman's let Richard borrow their 'people movers' and he was the driver for the night. Here is Kellie, Richard's sister below who also serves with the youth.

Christmas decor

Some of you have been asking that I post some pictures of some of the Christmas trees that I have been doing. Well, I feel silly putting pictures of other peoples homes on our family blog. However, I finally got to my Christmas on Saturday and here are a few pictures of our Christmas decor. I've been able to gather some fun things working at a home decor store and I love to decorate for Christmas. I will post the rest of it another time.

This is a new tree that I picked up this year on Black Friday. I am very excited about this tree and I think it is my favorite this year. I have been collecting the stuff for this tree for the last two years (shopping after Christmas sales).




Here is tree #2. I mixed it up this year and did it different than I usually do and I really like how it turned out as well.

This is a small tree but it is #3. It actually hangs on the wall and doesnt take up much space. It is pretty simple but I like that about it.

Ward Christmas Party

Friday night was our Ward Christmas Party. It was very nice. We had treats, made an ornament for our family, wrote letters to service men and women overseas & missionaries and had a really nice program to end the evening. Richard's parents are the activities chairmen and again they did a fabulous job. It was well attended and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Here is Richard below with his buddy, Paul.

The Senior Primary kids sang a special number during the program. Camdon is in the middle with the plaid shirt on.

Even Santa Claus came to help us remember to teach the children about the true meaning of Christmas. We were challenged to remember our Savior Jesus Christ in all that we do this holiday season. This is Richard's Auntie Kaye and Uncle Ben who played these parts for the program. Kaye is Jerry's sister.

Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre

Richard's parents bought this whole group tickets for dinner & a show to see the Nutcracker. What a fun way to start off our holiday season. It was fun just being together as always. We had a very enjoyable time and want to say thank you so much for inviting us to go.

This performance was geared for children and even the menu was filled with the things that kids love.
