Birthday Party!

Camdon is having a birthday this week. He will be 10 in just a few days. My baby boy is hitting the double digits. I am kindof sad about this.
On a happier note he had a party on Saturday. Here are 3 of his best buddies. These boys all live in the neighborhood and they hung out all summer long.
I took them to Amazing Jakes which is like an indoor amusement place. They have an awesome buffet and the kids ate & ate & played!
They did rock climbing.
Here they are waiting to go in & do laser tag.

Funny face Ammon!
I think the laser tag was their favorite.
Trevon came to help me but he joined right in on all of the fun.

They played lots of video games.
They rode the bumper cars.

It was a fun time!
Love this boy!

My Sister Melissa

I often think of my sister Melissa Delree but today is one of those days when she is on my mind a little more. Today is her birthday and she would be 31 years old. She passed away in 1996 from complications to Leukemia. She was a fun, baby loving, quick tempered, free spirited, beautiful young lady who left us to early. We have had some choice experiences over the years since her death. Reminders that she is still there and waiting for us all. Looking forward to that day Melissa. Sure do love and miss you!

Breakfast for dinner

I've been in a dinner slump the last few days. Just no motivation to make it. Well, I was feeling a little bad about this. Normally I do enjoy that part of my role as a Mother. I enjoy taking care of my family. Richard is also great in the kitchen and helps out with dinner from time to time. However, he has been gone alot working & serving. I realized as the day wore on that once again I had not laid out anything for dinner or even given it any thought. What could we have? Here was my solution & it was quite tasty I might add. Chocolate Belgain Waffles with Strawberries & Whip Cream. Who doesn't love breakfast for dinner once in awhile, right? My family will be happy to know that I do have a plan for tonight.

Music to my ears

Yesterday afternoon when Camdon came home from school this is how it went:
Camdon walks in the door and says - Mom, where are you?
Me - I'm in the family room, folding laundry.
Cam- Stay where you are Mom.
Me - Okay.
Me - listening to him fumble with something.
Cam- playing his new viola from school.
Me - Ahhhh. Music to my ears.
I love that he is soooo excited about this new adventure!

Love these kids!!!

My sister & her husband are in town this weekend on a getaway. We got to watch the kids today. It has been so delightful. Little kids just bring a breath of fresh air and liven things up. Here is Kamrielle dancing & singing to Shrek2. So entertaining.
Poor little Carder fell asleep about 5 minutes before we were headed out the door.

I had to wake him up but enjoyed every minute of it as he needed some cuddle time. I suffered through it. :)
They are precious!!!

Take me out to the ballgame

Richard took Jaron, Trevon & their friend Jordan to the Diamond Back's game Friday night. They sure had alot of fun. They had great seats. A homerun zoomed right next to Jaron. It literally flew through the guys hand next to him and was caught two rows back. They even had fireworks at the end of the game which is what they are watching in this picture.
Camdon stayed home with me :)

A great day!

Thank you to all who helped to make my day a memorable one. I sure enjoyed it from sunup til sundown. One of my favorite things of the day (there were many) was this cupcake that I had at lunch time. Have you ever seen a cupcake with glitter? It is edible glitter and I have to say it was the best cupcake I've ever had. Not to mention that it had 'bling'. Thanks again to all of my family and friends. Love you all!

The boys are growing up

Today was the 1st day of school for the boys. I personally love summer break!!! I love having my children home with me all day. It went by too quickly and I was home today wondering where the summer went. Regardless of how I feel they headed off to begin a new year. I have one in Elementary, one in Jr. High and one in High School. My morning and afternoon was spent doing lots of driving. I won't be driving each of them every day which is good.
Camdon is in 4th grade this year and it is his 1st time to have a man for a teacher. He was a little nervous this morning because he had heard stories about how mean this teacher was. When he got home he said that he had actually enjoyed school today and his teacher wasn't so bad afterall.
Trevon began his second year of Jr. High. He is in 8th grade. He is taking an 'A' hour this year and doing Jazz Band. We had to make some schedule changes for him after school today to make this happen. He will also do the lunch group boys choir again. He is pretty excited about these two things.
Jaron is in the 10th grade and is going to a new school this year. He was a little apprehensive about finding his classes and all that business. His schedule is messed up and needs some changes but they have been so swamped in the counseling office that they haven't gotten to him yet. He is not enjoying attending classes he will not be in. Hopefully tomorrow they will get it all straightened out.

I got to go to lunch with some girlfriends today so all in all it was a pretty good day.

The Fort

Camdon & his buddies from the neighborhood built a fort this week in the backyard. They were quite proud of it and they were very creative with their building materials.
Camdon even mentioned to me that they didn't use a single nail.
They wanted to make it a 2 story but I strongly encouraged them to keep it single level. LOL

Take 10

How many pictures does it take to get one with her eyes open?

Here we go. Isn't she cute!!!
This is my niece Kamrielle who is staying with us this week. Jaron is in ShowLow at my sister's house. We sure are having lots of fun with this sweet little thing.

A valuable lesson

What happens when you don't wear tennis shoes while doing yard work?
The weed wacker becomes a toe wacker.
Trevon learned this the hard way.
