Happy Birthday Richard

Today is Richard's birthday and we wanted to let him know how much we love him and are thankful that he is in our lives. Here he is as a cute, little happy baby. You can see his excitement for life even at a young age.
Here he is at 5 years old.
Richard at 10

As he grew older his fun loving personality came out in some strange ways. He loved to wear these red glass frames. They didnt have any lenses in them. He just liked to see people's reaction to them. He wore them to school, church and out and about. If you know Richard, that won't surprise you at all.

This picture is his Senior year in High School.
So handsome.

He is a wonderful husband and I adore him.

He is a fun uncle. Here he is with Carder & Tatum.

He loves his parents very much
and they are so proud of him.

He is such a good dad.
He loves to spend time with his boys.
They love to do things with him as well.

and after all these years, he still knows how to have fun!

Hope you have a fabulous day!
We love you!

Thanksgiving

We do the switch off thing with holidays.
This year we had Thanksgiving with the Turley's.
We started off the day by going to see Bolt.
It was just ok. There were a few funny parts.
It was just good to all be together.
Richard & Marcy
Trevon, Jaron & Camdon
ready for a great day.

Richard smoked the Turkey and it was really good.
Very tender & juicy & delicous.

Everybody worked so hard
& it's all over in 20 minutes.

You can see that I didnt get my doors painted.
Oh well, another day.

We played Scene-It Disney, went for a walk, made jewelry, had a Wii Tennis competition which Camdon won, had the Sister Missionaries over (they liked the jewelry making also), and did lots of visiting. It was a fun filled day!

We had great pies as well
PECAN PIE

KEY LIME PIE

TRIPLE BERRY RHUBARB PIE
LEMON MERANGUE PIE
Of course, PUMPKIN PIE
and I didnt get a picture of the
ICE CREAM PUMPKIN PIE

This is a funny video clip of Richard talking to Zale as we were on our way to the movie theatre. He was giving her a play by play of our travels and he already been talking for about 5 minutes at this point but you will get the idea.

It is coming along.
Here is the chandelier that Richard hung.
Here is the wallpaper that Marcy hung.

I am married to such a great guy.
Look at the sweet message he painted on the wall for me. Here is the color I chose for the Dining Room.
Here it is up close, it is hard to tell colors through a picture but you get the idea.

Tonight I got to go and see Twilight with my good friend Tiffany.

We loved it! We both were pleased with the result. Of course they can never put everything from a book into a movie but I thought they followed the book very well and if you had read the book than you could catch all of the humor and looks and so on because you were familiar with the characters. On a scale of 1 to 5, I give it a 4.5

Scout Service Project

Here are some pictures from the boys Service Project.
They got to see snakes - creepy -
must be a boy thing.
Good thing your mother wasn't there

Here is the group from our ward

This is what they did, restored the land.
I guess ATV's & motorcycles come through
and their job was to make it look like they
had never been there.

Here is what Jaron thought of the next picture.

See the weavel on the tip of that spoon.
That was found in the Hot Chocolate
they were drinking.

Part 1 & Part 2

Part 1
So, today after school I hear through the kitchen window Camdon calling to me. I ask what he needs and he says, 'Mom, I think you will want to get a picture of this'. Oh, he knows me so well. Anyhow, he was just out sitting with our dog Molly and thought it would make a great picture and it sure did. Thanks son! He sure loves this dog and heads straight out there almost every day.
Molly is obnoxious & wild & chews lots of stuff up. But, we love her anyway.
Part 2
So, we are having Thanksgiving at our house this year and we work really well under deadlines. It has been a good thing because it has motivation to get our dining room done or atleast mostly done before the holiday. I told Richard at the beginning of the week that if he would get the tape & texturing done by Thursday then I would paint over the weekend. He left this afternoon for a Scout overnighter with Jaron, Trevon, & many other boys. Well, I went to the store, got the paint, came home and started it. Wow, it's alot of work, painting. I worked at it for over an hour when I decided I sure could use some help. I called my brothers Tim & Kiff. They were actually out to dinner with my Dad (Mom is o.o.t.) but they agreed to come over after dinner. They were a huge help! It saved me hours of work. Kiff actually has worked as a painter before and they both were really good and made my efforts thus far look minimal. I would still be painting if hadn't been for the help. My Dad even came over for a bit and helped also. We got the primer on and now the actual color should go on so fast.

I think I have decided to paint the doors a chocolate brown. This will be the color of my curtains and think it will blend nicely. I didn't think about getting pictures when they were all here but below are some pictures of my brothers. Thanks guys!!!

Getting in the Christmas Spirit

My Mom & Dad gave me a gift certificate back in August on my birthday to go and get a pedicure. I haven't taken the time to do it until today. It was so nice and relaxing and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks Mom & Dad. I knew I would not be going back before Christmas so I decided to go ahead and go with something that would be fun for the holidays.

The Things We Enjoy

I just recently finished a book that had this written in it & I liked it:
The word thing is an interesting word. At first glance it looks like the front half of one word combined with the last half of another. It's a versatile word. It can be good, as in "what a nice thing," or "she has a thing for you." Or it can be bad, like, "the thing under the bed," or "here's the thing, you're fired and you smell bad." Add an "s" to the back end of it and it becomes something that most people in the world can't get enough of. "Things" People love things. They collect things. They store things. They cherish things and then move on and cherish other things. People also buy things. Some buy a lot of things simply because their neighbors have those same things - which is a weird thing if you really think about it. It's remarkable what we'll do for the sake of things when in reality things couldn't care less about us.
So, speaking of things I recently acquired a few of them. Richard's Nana who died recently had these things in her home. I am not sure how long she has had them but I don't ever remember her not having them. She had a special shelf in her home that housed these things and I was always drawn to them and thought they were pretty cool things. One time when we were up there visiting her I happened to mention that if she ever got rid of those things that I would like to have them. Well, guess what? They are now in a special place in our home and I really happen to enjoy the funny little things. I find them unique and funny. Creative and whimsical in a way. They make me smile and laugh and some people might find them ugly but to me they are a conversation piece that will always remind me of Nana's home. What do you think? Oh, and by the way they are all mugs.

Date Night

It was a busy day on Saturday. I will give you a synopsis of our day. Camdon went to Cub Scout Day Camp. Trevon went to a Merit Badge Clinic. Marcy went to work for a few hours. Richard worked on the house. Jaron & Trevon went hiking with Aunt Kellie. Marcy went grocery shopping and worked on sharing time. Camdon went to roadshows with Gma & Gpa Whipple. Trevon went to Aunt Kellie's to watch a movie. Jaron went to Gma & Gpa Turley's to play with Tatum. Then finally....what I wait for all week.....Richard & Marcy got to go on their weekly date. It was Richard's company party and we had a really good time. We played shuffle board best 2 out of 3. Marcy won the 1st game, Richard the 2nd and then he showed off by beating me a 3rd time as well. Then we went on to Dart's. Richard beat me the 1st time, I won the 2nd round. Then I schooled him on the 3rd game. I decided that I want a dart board for Christmas. Thanks for the reprieve honey, love you!
